Faxes Routed Directly to the Desktop. Many PBX's and key telephone systems
use Direct Inward Dialing (DID), Digital DID, or Dialed Number
Identification Service (DNIS) provided by a T1 or E1 for direct dialing to
internal extensions. Unused numbers from these lines can be used for fax
numbers, providing employees with their own individual fax number. When a
call is received, the PBX converts the number into DTMF tones and sends it
to the fax server. The fax server answers the call, receives the fax,
converts it to a TIFF file, attaches it to an e-mail, and sends it to the
correct recipient. Once received, users can view, print or forward the fax
as an e-mail to another e-mail user.
Fax Security. With the FaxFinder™ fax server, a small business can afford to
provide the CEO, President, CFO, COO, Human Resources and others with
virtual private fax lines. Because faxes are delivered directly to the
user's e-mail box, it offers a high degree of security for both the sender
and the recipient.
Fax Completes Unified Messaging with Multitech Modem and Fax Server Solution. Some PBX solutions deliver voice mail to a
user's e-mail box. Many, however, don't offer a fax solution. The FaxFinder™
fax server fills this gap and completes the unified messaging solution by
delivering faxes to one inbox. In addition, by taking headquarters fax
functionality and pushing it out to your mobile sales force and remote
locations, you enable access to information from any location.
Sending Faxes. The FaxFinder™ fax server client software allows the user to
compose a fax from any application that utilizes a printer. To send, the
user simply "prints" the document to the software, selects a cover page (or
creates their own) and enters a destination telephone number for the fax.
The client software forwards the fax to the fax server, and it gets sent out
via the PBX. The user can build one fax of multiple documents from multiple
applications, as well as schedule faxes to be sent at a later time.
Fax Capacity. The FaxFinder™ fax server utilizes a 750K buffer to receive
faxes. It can receive about 15 pages of text-based faxes (typically 50K per
page) before it splits the fax into a second e-mail. If graphic images are
included, the number of pages received per e-mail is reduced based on the
size and type of graphic. This 2-port model provides two lines for higher
volume fax traffic as well as simultaneous inbound/outbound faxing.
Configuration and Management. The FaxFinder™ fax server web interface
provides for easy set-up and configuration. In addition, it provides the
ability to view the current status of fax lines as well as a history of past
fax activity. E-mails inform the user of a failed transmission. Also
included is Windows-based management software that allows the administrator
to easily update the modem and server firmware. In addition, it allows the
administrator to save/copy/restore configuration files from one fax server
unit to another as well as synchronize phonebooks saving time on
installation.
Enhanced Fax Features. The FaxFinder™ fax server utilizes Super G3 V.34 fax
speeds of 33.6K bps, more than double the speed of V.17/14.4K bps fax.
Support for error correction mode (ECM) ensures error free faxing. Please

Highlights
Direct Inward Dial (DID). The FaxFinder™ fax server's routing capability is
a function of DID which allows multiple phone numbers to be placed on a
single phone line. Every network user is assigned with an individual fax
phone number. The last 3 or 4 digits of that number correspond to the
individual's fax extension. Senders simply dial the individual's fax
telephone number (no special procedures are required). The FaxFinder™ fax
server ensures the fax is delivered directly to their e-mail box.
Faxes Routed Directly to the Desktop. To route faxes directly to the
desktop, simply plug the FaxFinder™ fax server into a LAN, hook up a DID
trunk, and assign the user's e-mail addresses to the DID numbers. A fax is
then automatically received through the DID line, converted to a TIFF file
and delivered to the user over a LAN or WAN. Once received, users can view,
print or forward the fax as an e-mail to another e-mail user.
Fax Security. With the FaxFinder™ fax server, a small business can afford to
provide the CEO, President, CFO, COO, Human Resources and others with

Tripp Lite
offers the most reliable, cost-efficient power protection, power supply and
connectivity solutions available. With over 1,000 products to choose from, Tripp
Lite has the ideal solution for every application.
Tripp Lite's innovative product line (including #1-rated Isobar® Premium Surge
Suppressors), unmatched customer support and 80-year service history have built
a trusted reputation for reliability worldwide.
In 1922, Graham Trippe, a Chicago-area inventor, obtained a patent for a new
precision-focused automobile headlight. This unique design won the gold medal at
both the 1928 and 1929 Paris Exposition of Innovation. The Trippe "Speed Light"
soon became a successful automotive accessory, improving visibility on
everything from fine touring cars to U.S. Army tanks during World War II.
As sealed-beam headlights became standard equipment on post-war vehicles, Trippe
Manufacturing Company expanded into the production of rotating warning lights.
These were sold to many different businesses as well as the police, fire and
ambulance markets. To this day, Tri-Lite, the sister company of Tripp Lite,
continues to manufacture industrial and specialty lighting products for shipment
around the world.
Addressing a newfound need for on-board AC power in ambulances and recreational
vehicles, Tripp Lite developed a line of DC-to-AC inverters in the early 1960s.
Over the next 20 years, Tripp Lite grew to become the best known manufacturer of
portable inverters in the world-providing portable power for everything from RVs
to alternative energy applications.
By 1980, the advent of the personal computer had created a need for battery
backup AC power to prevent data loss or hardware damage to computers and other
sensitive microprocessor-controlled devices. By integrating their proven
inverter technology with a battery charger and transfer switch, Tripp Lite
became the first company to manufacture a UPS system specifically designed for
desktop PCs. Coupled with the introduction of the Isobar® Premium Surge
Suppressor in 1982, Tripp Lite was uniquely positioned to supply the burgeoning
computer market with high quality power protection equipment.
As the personal computer became an increasingly important business tool, power
protection from Tripp Lite became recognized as an essential add-on to computer
installations. 14 million Isobars and more than 3½ million UPS systems later,
Tripp Lite remains the leading manufacturer of power protection supplies,
including UPS systems, AC and dataline surge suppressors, line conditioners,
cabling and connectivity products and network management accessories. In 1999,
Tripp Lite became the exclusive licensee for IBM-brand UPS systems. Tripp Lite
quality products provide increased reliability and protection to PC
workstations, network file servers, telephone systems, point-of-sale terminals,
audio/video systems and laboratory equipment. Tripp Lite recently received ISO
9001 certification for the highest standard of design, manufacturing,
distribution, marketing and service excellence. Eighty years after it began, the
Tripp Lite marketing effort now spans the globe with sales in excess of $175
million and shipment to more than 85 different countries worldwide.
Tripp Lite Introduces ˇ§Zero Downtimeˇ¨ Hot-Swappable Modular UPS
Systems
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, IL (March 14, 2006)ˇXTripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power
protection equipment, has introduced two new SmartOnline™ Hot-Swappable Modular
UPS Systems promising zero downtime for connected server, storage and networking
equipment. End users can perform all potential UPS maintenanceˇXfrom battery
replacement to complete power module exchangeˇXwithout powering down connected
equipment and paying high-priced service specialists. The systems also include
features such as scalable runtime via optional battery packs and the ability to
configure multiple systems to deliver N+1 availability, setting a new
best-in-class standard.
The foundation of the hot-swappable modular design is a unique power
distribution unit (PDU) that manages all input and output power connections and
incorporates a manual bypass switch. Combined with the dynamic internal bypass
feature that keeps power flowing to connected equipment in the event of a
component problem, the manual bypass feature of the PDU enables UPS system
maintenance and component replacement without power interruption and costly
maintenance-related downtime.
Available in capacities of 5000VA (Model: SU5000RT4U) and 6000VA (Model:
SU6000RT4U), SmartOnline Hot-Swappable Modular UPS Systems deliver high power
density in an all-in-one compact 4U form factor, maximizing productivity for
server networking racks and other applications where space is at a premium. The
addition of tower stands for vertical installation provides a compact, powerful
and flexible single-system solution for the diverse and evolving needs of
businesses today.
ˇ§With the award-winning technology of our SmartOnline series well established,
Tripp Lite is excited to introduce these practical innovations to our expanding
enterprise customer base,ˇ¨ says David Slotten, Tripp Liteˇ¦s Director of Product
Management. ˇ§The obvious utility of our hot-swappable modular architecture,
combined with runtime scalability, extensive manageability and N+1 options for
multiple power supplies represents a leap forward versus legacy systems costing
thousands more.ˇ¨
The zero downtime, high power density design adds to industry-leading features
customers expect from SmartOnline UPS Systems, such as true on-line operation
for complete isolation of sensitive equipment from power problems, output
flexibility (2 L6-30R, 2 L6-20R, 8 5-15/20R; 120/240V or 120/208V output;
optional hardwire capability), simultaneously addressable communication ports,
SNMP communications slot, EPO interface, free PowerAlert software for remote
IP-based enterprise-level system management and scalable runtime capability
(with optional battery packs).
Available in March, the SmartOnline Hot-Swappable Modular UPS Systems will ship
immediately from stock without the production and delivery delays associated
with most competing products.
